Tips to Prep your Quilt for Longarming

*Batting and Backing need to be approximately 8” larger in length and width than the quilt top…The extra inches are required for loading the quilt onto the roller bars.
*The three layers of the quilt will be loaded on the machine independently of each other. Please do not pin or baste them together. Fold each layer separately.
*Backings NEED to be squared up.
*If there is a definite top to your quilt or your backing, and you think I may not recognize it, please mark it.
*Bedsheets are not suitable backings due to their high thread count affecting machine performance.
*Press your quilt top. There will be an additional charge for ironing if I need to do it.
*Clip all threads. Stray threads may show through lighter fabrics.
*Be sure your quilt is free of pet hair.
*Be Aware: “ Wavy borders are NOT friendly.” Fullness and puckers CANNOT be “Quilted Out.” I will do my very best to ease in any fullness, but tucks may result.
*You may provide your own batting or purchase it from me by the yard, cut to size.
