About Me

I am a creative introvert who has been married for 37 years to a supportive and loving guy.  We have five sons, four of whom are married to wonderful women.  We are grandparents to five. We live in West Michigan, and enjoy camping and antiquing in our free time.  I have sewed for as long as I can remember, and have tried almost every type of needlework and stitchery, mastering some while enjoying them all.  Helping to complete the quilts that my clients entrust me with brings joy to my heart.

My name is Brenda Kwekel, and I have been turning quilt tops into quilted treasures since 2007.  On my Gammill Classic Plus longarm machine, I specialized in freehand edge to edge and custom quilting services.  I thoroughly enjoy the variety of quilts that come my way, and love that I am able to have a small part in the finishing of your special projects.

I have been quilting for many years and even fulfilled my dream of owning a quilt shop, from 2011-2021.  Meeting so many wonderful quilters and making so many friends was truly the best blessing.  Working from my home now, I am able to have time for my grandbabies, and still do what I love most.  It truly is the best of both worlds.

My longarm is not computerized, meaning that all of my quilting is hand-guided, adding a personal touch to your quilt that can’t be duplicated by a machine.  I am willing to talk with you about your specific quilt, and offer or listen to your ideas as to what will make it sing!  Many of my clients ask me to do what I think will work best for their quilt, choosing design and thread colors.  I don’t take that trust for granted.  Your quilt will be like a special guest in my home, and it will receive the best care possible.
